The draws for the quarter-finals of the 2018/19 Knight, MMI and Bedlow Cups were made at tonight's (Dec 6) Management Committee meeting.

The Challenge Cup the main knockout competition open to all teams in the UCFL.

Richard Knight Cup

The Richard Knight Cup is a knockout competition for teams in the Premier Division and Division 1 of the UCFL.

MMI Cup
The MMI Cup is a knockout competition for teams in Divisions 2, 2A and 2B of the UCFL.  It was formerly known as the Reynolds Cup and, before that, the Hely Cup.  Until 1996, it had been open to all teams from Division 2 downwards, but with the introduction of the Sidney Bedlow Cup in 1996/97 for teams in Division 3 downwards, the Cup was confined to Divisions 2, 2A and 2B.

Sidney Bedlow Cup
As the UCFL expanded, a reorganisation of the league’s divisions was required and in 1996/97 a new competition, the Sidney Bedlow Cup was introduced.  It is a knockout competition for teams in Divisions 3, 3A and 3B of the UCFL.

External Competitions
In addition to the competitions run by the UCFL, there are also 3 knockout competitions run by external bodies (FAI, Leinster FA) which are open to some or all of the UCFL's member teams.

The FAI Junior Cup is open to all junior teams in the Republic of Ireland, with a total entry typically in excess of 500 teams from around the country.

The LFA Junior Cup is similarly open to all junior teams playing in Leinster.

Finally, the LFA Junior Shield is a competition open to all junior teams playing at Division 3 level or lower in any of the leagues affiliated to the Leinster FA.
