24/05/2022: UCFL AGM tonight

This season’s AGM will be held at 8.00pm tonight, Tuesday, 24 May 2022. It will be held “in-person” in the DCM Hall, Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1. Note that, as usual, all teams must be represented and that fines will be imposed for non-attendance.

Given that the room we will be using for the meeting will not be particularly large and also that more than a few likely to be in attendance may be in the “vulnerable” category in the context of Covid-19, we are asking everyone to wear a face mask.

Venue details:

Abbey Street Methodist Church

On entering the building, club representatives should take the stairs and the meeting hall is located at the top of the second flight of stairs.

05/04/2022: Management meeting deferred to Thursday night and changed to virtual format

With several members of the Executive Committee unavailable for various reasons (including a couple of positive Covid-19 tests), the management meeting scheduled for Tuesday night (April 5) in the DCM Hall has been deferred. It will now be held in virtual format (online) on Thursday night (April 7). Details have been circulated to all clubs.

04/04/2022: Saturday April 16 (Easter Saturday) - fixtures to be scheduled

There will be UCFL fixtures on the Easter weekend.

However, any team may request a free weekend (no fee payable) by contacting Noel Fitzroy our Fixtures Secretary before Friday April 8 at Noel.Fitzroy@ucfl.ie or by text to 086 6993107.

21/03/2022: Midweek games set to begin from March 28

Midweek fixtures begin next week with two games listed for Monday night, March 28, followed by 16 further fixtures scheduled for Wednesday, March 30. Kick-off will be 6.15pm for all midweek games for the first few weeks before moving to 6.30pm as daylight lengthens during April.

31/01/2022: Full Postponement Rules back in force

Since June 2020, when the League first resumed fixtures in the context of Covid-19, postponements have occasionally been granted to some teams due to Covid outbreaks within their ranks. In an effort to avoid penalising teams in these situations, we have sometimes ignored parts of our formal postponement request process.

However, with the Government imposed restrictions lifted and the threat of Covid apparently receding significantly, we are now reverting to full implementation of our postponement rules with immediate effect. Any team requesting a postponement due to a Covid outbreak, or for any other reason, for a fixture scheduled for next Saturday (05/02/2022), or thereafter, must submit a postponement request (most likely a late postponement request in the case of a Covid outbreak) in line with the process set out in our rules.

Details of the UCFL's full postponement procedures are outlined in the Procedures section of the website and can be viewed by clicking on the following link:
