05/10/2011: Reports from Saturday (01/10/2011)

21 games survived the heavy rain on Friday night and Saturday morning.  The following summaries were sent to the Star for publication:

Ardmore Rovers needed extra time to once again see off Clontarf Athletic in a cup competition as Dominic Joyce's goal saw them progress in the LFA Junior Cup on a 1 - 0 scoreline.

Three Trout Rovers took the lead twice against Finsbury Park but the game finished at 2 - 2 and, despite extra time, the penalty shoot out would decide the issue. Trout's keeper Eoin English saved two penalties and even converted one himself though he ended up on the losing side!!  Tim Wood (2) and Mark Sweeney (2) exchanged firepower respectively. Arthur Griffith Park 2nds and Dollymount had a nine goal thriller in Div3 with the away side claiming the spoils. Ross Byrne (2), Stephen Ralphand Conor Corboy were on the mark for AGP with Tom Lillis (2), Niall Tobin, Robert Baker and Mick O'Hara scoring for the winners.

CMH made Div 3B league leaders Chapelizod battle all the way to keep their unbeaten league run going and only lost out 2 - 3 in a very tight game. Derek Deasy notched a brace for CMH while Ian Farrell (2) and Anto Francis netted for Chapelizod.  Ballymount are also going well in this division and were 3 - 0 up before a goal either side of half-time brought Central FC back into the game.  This seemed to spark Ballymount who added another four before the visitors got a consolation goal at the end. The winning marksmen were Shane O'Reilly, Aaron Chambers (2), Sean Grehan (2), Glen Gahan and Mark Maguire.
