06/04/2011: Reports from 02/04/2011

The following summaries were sent to the Star for publication this week:

Braces were the order of the day as Stedfast Utd and Glasnaoin shared 4 goals in the Premier Division.  Jimmy McGrath's double strike for Stedfast was matched by David Murray of Glasnaoin.  Ardmore Rovers needed something out of the ordinary to get back on level terms with Leixlip Town who had opened the scoring on 43 minutes.  It was provided, on the hour mark, by Paddy Buckley who volleyed home from 35 yards to send each team home with a point apiece.

Terenure are now in a good position to apply for Premier football next season after their decisive 5 - 0 demolition of Brayzil 2nds in Div 1. A tight first half saw Terenure take the lead with a long range effort from Barry Fagan but they upped the tempo in the second half to knock in four more. Myles Jordan (2), Graham White and Ger Barry provided the firepower which ensures Terenure will finish in the top two.

Alex Sarick, Peter O'Callaghan and Mark White found the net in Glasnaoin 2nds 3 - 1 defeat of AFC Justice in Div 3.

A scoreless first-half wasn't a good prelude to Allenton's 4 - 1 victory over Rialto Madrid in Div 3A. Tom Hogan nabbed the first for Allenton and, although Rialto equalised shortly afterwards, Mick Horgan, Andre Caminiti and Ryan Carberry made sure the three points stayed at home.  Elsewhere, Limekiln had a 3 - 1 win over Brookfield Celtic 2nds with the winning goals coming from Dean Hendrick (2) and Danny Kelleher.

John Rossiter and Kiril Dickov were on the mark for Stedfast Utd 3rds in their Div 3B defeat of Lazio 2nds.  A goal from Paul Nealon for Stedfast Utd 2nds wasn't enough to contain Rathmichael who won 2 - 1 in Div 2B Shield Section A.
