Lower Crumlin introduced Stephen Kinch on the hour mark in their 4th round Nivea For Men Challenge Cup tie against Clontarf Athletic and he paid dividends 5 minutes later by grabbing the first goal of the game. Ger Cleary added a second with seconds to go to confirm Lower Crumlin's away tie to Trinity Corinthians in the last eight.

In the MMI Cup, Sandford Athletic had established a two goal cushion by the break against Orchard Celtic 2nds with goals from Johnny Kearney and Julian Fraser. Brendan Birchall had a storming game in the middle of the park for the winners and he'll have good memories with him as he flies out on Tuesday to Kenya. There he will be part of a team that hopes to build an orphanage and a community centre for the charity Building Of Hope Project 2010.
