News from weekend 30/01/2010
A successful weekend saw nearly all games played. In the LFA Junior Cup, Orchard Celtic reached the 5th round with a 2-1 win over North Wall, while Trinity reached the 4th round after a 2-1 win over Bangor Celtic. However, Lower Crumlin went out of the FAI Junior Cup, losing 0-2 away to Courtown Hibs in Wexford on Sunday in the 5th round.
Elsewhere, progress was made in the 3 main Cups – the Nivea for Men Challenge Cup, the MMI Cup and the Sidney Bedlow Cups. The Challenge Cup and MMI Cup quarter-final lineups are now close to completion and the draws for those quarter-finals will be held at the management meeting on Thursday night (04/02/2010).
There were also 33 league games played across the 8 divisions and the results of these together with updated league tables can be viewed on this website after publication in Tuesday’s Irish Daily Star. The Star also features reports on two of the weekend’s matches in addition to our usual summaries and news from other matches.
