Portmarnock got back to 1-2 and hit the crossbar on 85 minutes before Ross Dawson sealed the win for Terenure. 21 games survived the heavy rain on Friday night and Saturday morning. The following summaries were sent to the Star for publication:
Ardmore Rovers needed extra time to once again see off Clontarf Athletic in a cup competition as Dominic Joyce's goal saw them progress in the LFA Junior Cup on a 1 - 0 scoreline.
Three Trout Rovers took the lead twice against Finsbury Park but the game finished at 2 - 2 and, despite extra time, the penalty shoot out would decide the issue. Trout's keeper Eoin English saved two penalties and even converted one himself though he ended up on the losing side!! Tim Wood (2) and Mark Sweeney (2) exchanged firepower respectively. Arthur Griffith Park 2nds and Dollymount had a nine goal thriller in Div3 with the away side claiming the spoils. Derek Deasy notched a brace for CMH while Ian Farrell (2) and Anto Francis netted for Chapelizod. Ballymount are also going well in this division and were 3 - 0 up before a goal either side of half-time brought Central FC back into the game. This seemed to spark Ballymount who added another four before the visitors got a consolation goal at the end. The winning marksmen were Shane O'Reilly, Aaron Chambers (2), Sean Grehan (2), Glen Gahan and Mark Maguire.
29/09/2011: Reports from 24/09/2011; LFA Junior Cup kicks off
Despite only leading 1-0 at the break, Brayzil followed through with a decisive second half performance to finish up as 6-2 victors over Donore FC in the first round of the LFA Junior Cup. Ashley McDonagh got them on the road again with the remainder of the tally coming from Ray Jaudzems (2), Dave Duffin (2) and Mark Lawlor.
Also in the LFA Junior Cup, Steve Soye (2) and Kevin O'Flynn put Booterstown in to a comfortable 3-0 lead over Drumcondra FC though they conceded a scrappy goal just before the interval. Drumcondra pushed on in the second half and were rewarded with a deflected shot that found its way to the back of the net. With 20 minutes to go, Drumcondra tied the game which ebbed and flowed though normal and extra time without any more goals. In the resultant penalty shoot out, Booterstown advanced on a 3-1 scoreline.
Nathaniel Fernandes scored just before the interval to leave Harding 2nds trailing Ardmore Rovers 3rds 2-1 in their Div 3B clash. Ten minutes after the re-start, Adrian O'Flaherty equalised for Harding and they went searching for the winner. Ardmore hit back with two goals on the break and looked to have done enough to take all three points. However, Fernandes had other ideas and pulled one back on 80 minutes. With practically the last action of the game, he rounded off his hat-trick with a bullet header to ensure the spoils were shared. Ardmore's marksmen were Graham Hinch, Pete Moran, Andrew Edwards and James Pitts.

Siemens got the winning goal just three minutes after the resumption when Paulo Cassiro netted. They needed a winner in the 80th minute from Rory Green. Leroy Turner, Mark Montgomery and Ross Church provided the firepower for Castle Celtic 2nds in the 3-0 defeat of Glasnaoin 2nds.

In the Premier Division, Strand Utd garnered three points against Sportslink with goals from Ronan Munnelly and John Kennedy.
Dave Byrne, Aaron Brack (2) and Gareth Crowley found the net for Brayzil 2nds in their Div 1 away tie against Sandyford Rovers.
The other Sandyford - United - were deserving 5 - 2 winners over Glenmalure Rovers in Div 2.
The winning tally came from Ciaran Tracey (2), Lee Doyle, Rob O'Halloran and Philip Richardson. Stephen O'Grady, Barry Murray and an "og" foiled St Mary's 2nds efforts to put back-to-back home wins as they lost out to Ardmore Rovers 2nds 1 - 3 in Div 2B.
Brookfield Celtic 2nds dominated Dollymount in Div 3 and the highlight of the win was a hat-trick for Garrett Francis.

In 2A, a four-timer from Jason Mulhall set up Castle Celtic for a decisive win over Castle Rovers. Elsewhere, Cliff Gibbons and Summer Sakatwa scored for Arthur Griffith Park in the 2 - 2 draw with Sporting Metro.
F C Centurions got off to a flier against St Mary's 2nds in Div 2B when a Gordon Eustace penalty and an "og" had them 2 - 0 ahead on the half-hour. St Mary's regrouped and were rewarded when Craig Farrell went on to notch up four goals, which aided by a strike from Conor McNally left them in the driving seat as Centurions, who unluckily lost a couple of players to injury, could only add another goal in reply. Moorfield had racked up five goals before Terenure's late consolation goal came and, on this showing, will be strong contenders for honours, come the end of the season. The winning marksmen were John Luby (2), Cyril Carroll (2) and Barry Reid.
AFC Justice added another three points with a hard fought 2 - 1 defeat of Castle Celtic 2nds in Div 3. Billy Prout and David Lennon scored for Justice with the reply coming from Dylan Brown. Dundrum Town took the lead in their away fixture against Siemens through Mick Horgan and held on until Adam Parker levelled the score on 55 minutes. There were plenty of goals in 3B courtesy of White Star Rovers/CMH delivering 10 !! Mark Stewart opened his account for the season with a five-timer with Paddy Thompson and Jimmy Germaine completing CMH's total against White Star's contribution from Darren Roche and Cian O'Reilly (2). Chapelizod are well out of the blocks and Ian Farrell's hat-trick was instrumental in the win over new boys Kill Celtic on a 7 – 2 scoreline. Aidan McDermottroe put Harding 2nds in the lead against Ballymount Celtic and it took a terrific 20 yard strike from Ballymount's no. 10 Declan Colton to tie the game. Harding's keeper Alan Crann had no chance with the screamer but paid the price for waiting for the ball to bounce into the 18 yard box as Aaron Chambers nimbly went past him to put Ballymount in to the lead. However, Ballymount's keeper Keith Daly returned the compliment when he failed to collect a through ball, allowing McDermottroe to hit his second. Aaron Chambers demonstrated why he had the no. 9 shirt as he added two more in the second half with Lee Hurley completing the scoring for Ballymount in what was a well contested game.
